High-Temperature White Primer

Ready-to-use product

1K high-temperature primer designed for painting engines of any type. It enhances the durability of the paint applied over it and provides excellent anti-corrosion properties for metals and lightweight alloys.

This primer does not require a catalyst as it is specifically formulated for high temperatures.

The high-temperature primer is easy to apply and must be used before applying any engine paint, especially wrinkle paint.

PREPARATION AND TOOLS

It is mandatory to wear latex gloves to avoid contact between bare hands and metal.

Use a spray gun with a nozzle size of 0.8 to 1.4 mm and a pressure between 1.5 and 2.5 bar.

APPLICATION - LIQUID VERSION

  • Thoroughly degrease the parts with our Kustomservice Aeronautical Degreaser.

  • Do not use any other type of degreaser.

  • Apply a light coat and wait 10 minutes.

  • Apply a heavier coat and wait 30 minutes.

  • At this point, you can begin the painting process without sanding the primer, as this paint is designed for a wet-on-wet application cycle.

    IMPORTANT

The quality of a good job depends entirely on the preparation and cleaning of the components. The smoother, cleaner, and more flawless the surface, the better the final result will be.

Spray primer is used with spray paints. If using liquid paint, liquid primer must be used; this rule is mandatory.

The primer should not be used on motorcycle exhausts or headers as it is designed only for engines and standard parts of motorcycles, brakes, or other items such as decorative objects.

    PAINTING THE ENGINE AFTER PRIMER

After applying the primer correctly, proceed with painting. Regardless of the paint chosen by the customer, follow these instructions:

    1. Prepare the paint by pouring the contents of the dark glass bottle into the paint can.

    2. Shake the paint well so that the catalyst mixes thoroughly with the paint.

    3. Pour the chosen paint into the spray gun.

    4. Apply a full but not overly thick coat and wait 15 minutes.

    5. Apply a second full coat and wait another 20 minutes.

    6. If the chosen paint is matte black, glossy black, or engine gray: Wait 24 hours for the paint to cure completely, after which the engine will be ready for use.

    7. If the chosen paint is textured for Harley-Davidson engines: After the second coat, apply very light coats from a distance of 50 cm to create the classic original effect of American engines.

    8. If the chosen paint is wrinkle paint: Refer to the application guide for this special paint in the product description on this website. The process is more detailed, and it is crucial to follow all the steps carefully.
