High-Temperature Black Primer
Ready-to-use product.
1K high-temperature primer designed for painting all types of engines. It provides durability to the paint applied over it and offers excellent anti-corrosion properties for metal and lightweight alloys.
This primer does not require a catalyst because it is high-temperature resistant.
The high-temperature primer is easy to apply and must be used before applying any engine paint, especially wrinkle paint.
PREPARATION AND TOOLS
It is mandatory to wear latex gloves to avoid contact between bare hands and metal.
Use a spray gun with a nozzle size of 0.8 to 1.4 and a pressure between 1.5 and 2.5 bar.
APPLICATION - LIQUID VERSION
-
Thoroughly degrease the parts using our Kustomservice Aeronautical Degreaser.
-
Do not use any other type of degreaser.
-
Apply a light coat and wait 10 minutes.
-
Apply a heavier coat and wait 30 minutes.
-
At this point, you can begin the painting process without sanding the primer, as this product is designed for a wet-on-wet application cycle.
IMPORTANT
The quality of the work depends entirely on the preparation and cleaning of the components. The smoother, cleaner, and more flawless the surface, the better the final result will be.
PAINTING THE ENGINE AFTER PRIMER
Once the primer application has been completed, proceed to apply the paint. Regardless of the paint chosen by the customer, follow these steps:
-
Prepare the paint by pouring the contents of the dark glass bottle into the paint can.
-
Shake the paint well to ensure the catalyst mixes thoroughly with the paint.
-
Pour the chosen paint into the spray gun.
-
Apply a full but not overly heavy coat and wait 15 minutes.
-
Apply a second full coat and wait another 20 minutes.
-
If the chosen paint is matte black, glossy black, or engine gray: Wait 24 hours for the paint to harden properly, then the engine is ready for use.
-
If the chosen paint is Harley-Davidson textured engine paint: After the second coat, apply very light coats from a distance of 50 cm to create the classic original effect of American engines.
-
If the chosen paint is wrinkle paint: Refer to the application guide for this special paint found in the product description on this website. The process is more detailed, and all steps must be followed carefully.
