Rough Textured Matte Black Engine Spray Paint - High Temperature

This is a special paint that replicates the original effect of Harley Davidson engines and many other engines.

It has particular thermal and mechanical resistance properties.

HOW TO APPLY ENGINE TEXTURED PAINT?

1. Degrease the engine: Start by degreasing the engine with our special Kustom Service Aeronautical Degreaser.
2. Do not use any nitro or acrylic solvents or body shop anti-silicone products.
3. Always wear latex gloves: Never touch the engine or metal with bare hands, as it will cause oxidation due to the acid from your hands.

Once all engine components are cleaned, start preparing the parts.

PRIMING THE ENGINE

For engine preparation, it is mandatory to apply our high-temperature primer, as paint alone does not guarantee adhesion to metal or alloy surfaces.

If you choose not to use the primer, you do so at your own risk, as the paint may peel off.

We recommend this step to ensure the quality and longevity of the paint job. Engines are made of aluminum alloy or other metals that can oxidize, so primer should always be applied before painting.

Even aluminum can oxidize, so it's essential for a primer to block this oxidation. Additionally, primer has specific adhesive properties that paint cannot offer.

Paint alone cannot stop rust or oxidation because it cannot contain phosphating substances, which is why we recommend using a primer.

APPLYING THE PRIMER

1. Shake the spray well and apply the first medium coat (not too thick or too light).
2. Wait 5 minutes and apply a full coat, evenly and properly.
3. Wait 20-30 minutes and begin the painting process.

APPLYING THE TEXTURED WRINKLE PAINT

1. Apply a coat that is neither too thick nor too light and wait 15 minutes.
2. Apply a thicker and more compact coat and wait 20 minutes.
3. After 20 minutes, start creating the rough effect of Harley Davidson engines.

CREATING THE TEXTURED WRINKLE EFFECT

To achieve the textured effect, apply very light coats quickly and from a distance (about 30 cm from the surface).

It is very important that these light coats are not applied all at once.

1. Apply a light coat from a distance and wait for it to dry.
2. Apply another light coat and wait for it to dry.
3. The more light coats you apply, the rougher the texture will become.
4. Continue applying until the effect looks like the original Harley Davidson engine texture.

PAINT DRYING AND GASOLINE RESISTANCE

The textured paint will be touch dry in about 1 hour. After 12 hours, it will reach a high enough hardness to allow you to assemble the engine parts. After 48-72 hours, it will achieve the hardness required to resist gasoline.

In summer, if you place the parts in the sun, the paint will become gasoline-resistant in about 2 hours.

NOTE: Keep in mind that spray paint cannot have the same gasoline resistance as 2K paint applied with a body shop spray gun. If you want a product that is extremely resistant and permanent to any chemical agent, you must apply the 2K version using a body shop spray gun.
