Silver Grey High Temperature Engine Spray Paint 1K 400 ml
High temperature engine paint for painting motorcycle, car, marine engines, etc.
This product is designed to restore and refurbish any engine, as well as brake calipers and other parts.
It has elastic properties that allow it to resist rapid thermal shocks, such as when cold water from puddles in winter can splash onto a hot engine, causing rapid expansion and contraction of the paint layer.
PREPARATION AND TOOLS
It is recommended to wear latex gloves to avoid contact between hands and metal. Always degrease metals with our Kustomservice aeronautical degreaser. Prepare the metal with our high-temperature primers to avoid oxidation and rust. PAINTING OBSERVATION
Ambient temperature greatly influences painting and its results. Since many users paint in garages or areas where the ambient temperature is not controlled, some important factors need to be considered. If painting below 15 degrees Celsius, the paint hardens slowly and will take much longer to become resistant to gasoline and other chemicals. Therefore, we suggest waiting at least 1 week before exposing the components to any chemicals, including simple water or washing soaps. When working without professional tools, longer waiting times are required, but patience will yield the same results.
APPLICATION OF HIGH TEMPERATURE ENGINE PAINT
First, prepare the pieces with Kustom Service white engine primer, applying one light coat and one full coat. Wait 30 minutes for it to dry, then begin the painting procedure. Degrease the pieces thoroughly with our Aeronautical Degreaser. No trace of grease, rust, oxidation, imperfections, or dirt should remain. Always wear latex gloves and never touch metal parts with bare hands. Prepare the pieces with our Kustom Service black spray primer or liquid professional version. Shake the spray can well, apply a light coat, and wait 10 minutes. Apply a full coat and wait until it is completely opaque. Apply a second and final full coat, and wait 30 minutes to 1 hour before applying the engine paint. Note that after applying the primer, you have 12 hours to paint without sanding the primer. It is recommended to lightly scuff it with Scotch Brite 3M.
HOW LONG AFTER CAN I TOUCH AND ASSEMBLE THE PAINTED COMPONENTS?
12 hours to dry to the touch 48 hours before assembling
RESISTANCE TO GASOLINE (tests conducted at 18°C)
10-15 days to achieve maximum chemical resistance (at 18-20°C)
1 hour if cured at 60°C
30 days at a temperature of 10-12°C
NOTE: You can bake the paint to accelerate the chemical drying process by curing it at 60°C for one hour.
PAINTING OBSERVATIONS
The drying time between coats is influenced by factors like ambient temperature. In the case of matte paint, it should not be accelerated with mechanical means such as heat guns, body shop ovens, or forced air.
IMPORTANT
The result of a good job depends entirely on the preparation and cleaning phase of the components. Therefore, more attention should be paid to preparation than to the painting itself.
