High-Temperature Wrinkle Spray Paint in Harley Davidson Black and Lamborghini Black

High-temperature wrinkle paint for the original restoration of sports engines such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Harley Davidson, Lancia Stratos, Delta HF Integrale, and Escort Cosworth.

This high-temperature wrinkle engine paint is also used for design and decor objects, such as Nikon camera lenses and decorative items, thanks to its incredible resistance to scratches, heat, and abrasion.

Once dried, it is more resistant than catalyzed paint, but it is crucial to strictly follow the instructions in the technical datasheet to achieve these results.

To use and apply this product correctly on engines, it is mandatory to use our high-temperature primers. For other applications in the design and architecture sectors, we recommend consulting the technical datasheet and contacting our office.

Differences Between Liquid and Spray Versions

The only difference between the liquid and spray versions is that the spray version struggles with large components like engine heads and design objects, as it cannot provide uniform coverage on large surfaces. For professional projects, we recommend the liquid version, which can be applied using bodywork spray guns.

Please consult the technical datasheet for detailed application instructions.

Additionally, note that Lamborghini Black and Harley Davidson Black wrinkle paints are the same paint, color, and texture; the label differs only for marketing purposes.

If the advertised product is unavailable, we will ship the stock available in our warehouse at our discretion.

PREPARATION OF METAL OR ALLOY COMPONENTS

Components must:

  • Be sandblasted if necessary, and if sandblasted, painted with a primer within two hours. Handle them only with gloves, never with bare hands, and clean them exclusively with our aerospace-grade anti-silicone degreaser.
  • Be thoroughly cleaned and blown with compressed air.
  • Be cleaned of old paint residues or rust using abrasive paper if not sandblasted.
  • Be prepared with one of our specific primers, either spray or catalyzed liquid versions.

PREPARATION OF PLASTIC COMPONENTS

Plastic components must:

  • Be cleaned with antistatic degreasers like our universal anti-silicone degreaser.
  • Be stripped of any old or residual paint.
  • Be prepared with our plastic adhesion promoter.

APPLICATION OF WRINKLE PAINT

These rules apply to both the spray version and the professional liquid version.

  • For spray paint: Shake the can well and start painting.
  • For liquid paint: Shake the container briefly, pour it into a spray gun with a 1.3 or 1.4 mm nozzle, and filter it using appropriate bodywork filters. Avoid larger nozzles like 1.7 or 1.8 mm.

Steps:

  1. Apply one or two coats of primer and let dry for one hour.
  2. Apply a light anchoring coat and wait 10 minutes, regardless of the season.
  3. Apply the first full and compact coat. The surface should appear glossy and fully wet. Wait 10 minutes in summer and 15 minutes in winter.
  4. Apply the second full coat and wait another 10 or 15 minutes.
  5. Apply the third full coat and wait approximately 20 or 30 minutes.

BAKING AND WRINKLE FORMATION

General Notes:
Wrinkle paint fully cures in 20 days at room temperature (30 days in winter). To accelerate curing, bake it for three hours at 50-60°C. However, prolonged baking may alter the wrinkle's size and appearance, making it smaller and tighter.

Baking Methods:

  1. Small Oven:
    • Bake the components for one hour at 80°C in ventilated or static mode. Let them cool for 12 hours before handling and wait at least one week before assembly.
  2. Heat Gun:
    • Carefully heat the components evenly with a heat gun until wrinkles form. This method is better suited for small items.
  3. Infrared Lamps:
    • Use infrared lamps to heat the components until the wrinkles are fully formed. Turn off the lamps, let the components cool for 12 hours before handling, and wait one week before assembly.

REASSEMBLING COMPONENTS AND GASOLINE RESISTANCE

To ensure maximum resistance to gasoline, allow the wrinkle paint to cure for 30 days at room temperature or 15 days with baking or infrared heating.

AESTHETIC CHARACTERISTICS

Wrinkle paint offers a unique texture, similar to corduroy.

DURABILITY

Once cured, wrinkle paint is more durable than catalyzed paint, despite being a single-component product.
