Professional Liquid High-Temperature Wrinkle Paint Yellow Modena

The Yellow Modena Wrinkle Paint is a special product exclusively produced by us in its original version.

High-temperature wrinkle paint spray for the original restoration of sports car engines such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Harley Davidson, Lancia Stratos, Delta HF Integrale, Escort Cosworth.
This high-temperature engine wrinkle paint is also used for design and decorative objects, such as Nikon camera lenses and furniture, thanks to its incredible resistance to scratches, high temperatures, and abrasions.
Once dried, it is more resistant than catalyzed paint, but it is essential to follow the technical data sheet instructions carefully to achieve these results.

To correctly use and apply this product to engines, it is mandatory to use our high-temperature primers. For other applications in the design and architecture sector, we recommend reading the technical sheet and contacting our office.

It should also be noted that the difference between the liquid and spray versions is twofold:

  1. The spray version comes in a standard medium-small wrinkle and an XL version with a large wrinkle like the original liquid version for bodywork.
  2. The spray is challenging for large components such as some engine heads and design objects because it cannot uniformly coat large surfaces. For professional work, we recommend using the liquid version applied with body shop spray guns.

Metal or Alloy Parts Preparation:

  • Use exclusively and mandatorily our Wrinkle Primer.
  • Sandblast and paint at least with the WRINKLE PAINT primer within 2 hours of sandblasting.
  • Handle pieces with latex gloves to avoid oxidation and degrease them with WRINKLE PAINT Degreaser.
  • Thoroughly clean and blow with compressed air.
  • Remove old paint or rust residues with sandpaper if not sandblasted.
  • Prepare with our specific primers in spray or liquid WRINKLE PAINT (do not use other brands).
  • If more than two hours pass, re-sandblast.

Plastic Parts Preparation:

  • Always apply the Wrinkle Primer on plastic.
  • Clean with anti-static degreasers like our universal anti-silicone degreaser.
  • Remove any old or residual paint.
  • Prepare with our WRINKLE PRIMER adhesion promoter for plastic.

Application of Wrinkle Paint:
These rules apply to both the spray and professional liquid versions as the application method and technique are the same.

  1. Shake the spray can and begin painting.
  2. For the liquid version, shake the can for a few seconds, pour it into a spray gun with a 1.3 or 1.4 nozzle, and filter it using proper body shop filters.
  3. After applying one or two coats of primer, let it dry for an hour at room temperature.
  4. Apply a light anchoring coat and wait 5 minutes at room temperature.
  5. Apply the first full coat and wait 5 minutes in summer or 15 minutes in winter.
  6. Apply the second full coat and wait 5–15 minutes depending on the season.
  7. Apply the third full coat and wait 20 minutes in summer or 45 minutes in winter before heating.

Cooking and Wrinkling Process:

  • Oven: Bake in a small or body shop oven at 70°C until the wrinkle forms. Let it cool for 12 hours and wait a week before assembly.
  • Heat Gun: Use for small objects; not suitable for large components unless multiple heat guns are used simultaneously.
  • Infrared: A great option if used carefully to ensure even heating.

Important Notes:
The wrinkle paint takes 20 days to fully cure at room temperature (30 days in winter) unless baked at 50–60°C for 3 hours to accelerate hardening. Be cautious with prolonged heating, as it may alter the wrinkle's size and appearance.
