PROFESSIONAL 2K METALLIC SILVER ENGINE SPRAY PAINT FOR VINTAGE MOTORCYCLES

2K HIGH TEMPERATURE GASOLINE RESISTANT SPRAY CAN

The difference between this metallic grey and the classic one is that it doesn't appear as a light metal but rather as a flat grey, exactly like the one used on vintage motorcycles.

This professional 2K engine spray paint is designed for restoring and repairing any engine, including vintage motorcycles, cars, and other vehicles.

This special spray contains an internal capsule with a catalyst that is released by pressing a button at the bottom of the can.

After properly shaking it, you must use it within 12 hours. You can store it in the refrigerator to slow down the catalysis process for up to 48 hours, meaning you can use it for a maximum of 3 days.

A practical tip for using it after taking it from the fridge is to let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to allow the paint, which has thickened from the cold, to liquefy.

It has elastic properties that allow it to withstand sudden thermal changes, for example, from cold water in puddles that may wet a hot engine during winter, causing rapid expansion and contraction of the paint layer.

PREPARATION AND TOOLS

It is recommended to wear latex gloves to avoid contact between your hands and the metal. Always degrease the metal using our Kustomservice aeronautical degreaser. The metal must be properly prepared with our high-temperature primers to prevent oxidation and rust. PAINTING OBSERVATIONS

Ambient temperature significantly affects painting and the final result. Since many users paint in garages or places where the ambient temperature is not controlled, it is important to know a few things. If painting below 15°C, the paint will harden slowly and will take much longer to become resistant to gasoline and other chemicals. For this reason, we suggest waiting at least 1 week before exposing the components to any chemicals, including simple water or washing soaps. When working without professional tools, longer wait times may be needed, but patience is key to achieving the same results.

APPLYING HIGH TEMPERATURE ENGINE PAINT 2K

Thoroughly degrease the pieces with our Kustomservice Aeronautical Degreaser. There should be no trace of grease, rust, oxidation, imperfections, or dirt of any kind. Always wear latex gloves and never touch the metal parts with bare hands. Prepare the pieces with our Kustomservice primer spray or professional liquid version. Before applying the 2K paint, apply two coats of primer. After applying, wait 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature before applying the paint directly onto the primer without sanding it. Unlike 1K, this is 2K. This means that it will give you the same result as the liquid version, with the advantage of being in a spray can, but to use it, you must press the button found at the bottom of the spray. Before using the spray, remove the red button from the transparent cap, turn the spray upside down, apply the red button to the valve at the bottom of the spray can, and press firmly for 30 seconds. This activates the catalyst inside the spray, which will cure the paint. If you don't follow this procedure, the paint will not dry and will not resist any chemicals. At this point, shake the spray well and apply a light coat. Wait 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, apply a full coat and wait 15 minutes. Apply a second and final full coat and then wait the recommended drying time of 48 hours before mounting the components.

AFTER HOW LONG CAN I TOUCH AND MOUNT THE PAINTED COMPONENTS?

12 hours to be dry to the touch. 48 hours before mounting. 72 hours for optimal resistance. 1 week for maximum resistance.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE TESTING TIMES (test conducted at 18°C):

3-4 days for maximum chemical resistance (at 18-20°C).

1 hour if cured at 60°C.

30 days at 10-12°C.

NOTE: You can bake the paint to accelerate the chemical drying process by heating it to 60°C for one hour.

PAINTING OBSERVATIONS

The drying times between coats are determined by factors such as ambient temperature, and for this paint, they should not be accelerated using mechanical methods like: heat guns, body shop ovens, or forced air.

IMPORTANT

The quality of the work depends entirely on the preparation and cleaning of the components. Therefore, pay close attention to the preparation process rather than the painting itself.
